Dear Members and Friends of Wollaston Congregational Church,
We often hear that the holidays are a time to think about others. Indeed, it is important to be generous toward those in need at this time of year. But, this Advent season I am inviting you to think about yourself for a moment. What is missing in your life in these times?
Sadly, we often think we cannot have the “big ticket” items that are missing: peace of mind, time to rest, the joy of relationships, love in our lives. Instead we settle for a cheaper wish list: things that our family and friends will be able to get on sale in the frantic race to up to Christmas
But here is the good news: Advent is not a time for settling for cheap things on sale. If we are willing to enter into the season faithfully, Advent will deliver the precious gifts of peace, time, joy and love. All we have to do is show up.
So, don’t miss Advent. Don’t let it pass you by this year. We’ll be here, at Wollaston Congregational Church, every Sunday morning at 10 am, ready to usher in the gifts of Advent. See you then!
